Welcome to Schloss Velburg Dobermanns!

Here at Schloss Velburg, we breed and raise 100% European Dobermanns.  We closely work with our life-long friends from Europe who breed top of the line working and show Dobermanns and together we focus on longevity, health and temperament of this incredible breed.    All our dogs join us as puppies or young adults and are from the bloodlines that we are deeply familiar with.  Our network of friends includes International Canine Federation (FCI) judges and leading European veterinarians, ensuring we provide you with the very best of European Dobermann.

All of our dogs are AKC registered and microchipped.  They regularly receive the most current and modern veterinary care and health testing to minimize health risks that may be found in this breed.  We are proud members of the United Dobermann Club (UDC; visit the Breeder Directory for more information) and United Schutzhund Clubs of America (USCA).  ​

 

Since we do not breed for quantity and have only a limited number of litters/puppies per year, sometimes we have direct import puppies available directly from our overseas partners.  Please visit our "Partners" page for more information on our partners.

If you decide to purchase a Dobermann puppy, you will be adding a loving, loyal  and highly intelligent family member to your household.   We will continue to follow up with you even after the sale.  We are as concerned about your happiness with one of our pups as we are about their safety and well-being.  We will do our best to help with any concerns or questions that may arise.  Feel free to read over our Puppy Placement information and our temperament testing protocol.  We will be glad to answer any questions that you might have.

We are very serious about the welfare  of our puppies.  We follow up with all of our puppy families after puppies go to their new homes to ensure that our puppies and dogs are being treated according to the stipulations provided in our contract.   If our puppy or dog is not being treated according to the  conditions set forth in our contract, legal action will be taken.

About Us

​

Our interest in working dogs go back as long as we can remember.    I got my first German Shepherd puppy  when I was growing up in Eastern Europe.  My best friend's puppy was a Dobermann.   Many years later , the love for dogs is still here.  Some of our friends live overseas in Europe, but we still share our  passion for  these two wonderful breeds.

We consider ourselves to be hobby breeders and  do not make a living off dogs and are never in a position to need to produce and sell dogs for financial  purposes.  We do not have a "kennel", all of our dogs live with us in our home and are our friends and companions, participating in all of our family events and experiences.  We all have regular jobs  to afford us the opportunity to spend our non-working time focusing on our passion for Dobermanns.  We focus on quality, not quantity, and we are putting a great deal of time and effort into planning our litters and raising our puppies.  Our small, in-home environment allows us to provide all of our puppies with a great deal of personal attention, enrichment and socialization before they go to their new homes.
